Unloose the Ties That Bind

 

I 'm no longer a lamb tied for the slaughter

unloose the ties that bind.

I AM a lamb gently carried by You

when my footing I cannot find.

 

I AM a sheep a part of the flock

guided when I go astray.

I AM also the shepherd filled with Your Love

steps secured on journey's way.

 

I give thanks for the noise

that once filled my head,

I choose Quiet and Peace

joy filled hope no more dread.

 

The table – the feast

not the sacrificial one,

I'm laughing and free

in the noon day's sun.

 

Come, take my hand

let's both take a chance,

Hear all of life's music

to sing and to dance.

 

We'll pray and we'll ponder

Share my journey with you,

We'll Set Sail for a New World

Solitude

 

Radiant sunshine flecks of gold

anointing heart and soul,

Raining from my loving God

delight in feeling whole.

 

Aloneness Splendor tears of joy

the calming ocean's balm,

Fears and worries melt away

deep breaths a wave of calm.

 

Travel to my sacred place

of warmth and truth and light,

Faith the only passport,

transport by inner sight!

 

Travel to this destination

no blackout dates apply,

Take this flight of fancy

to your burdens bid goodbye!

 

 

 

A Tidal Wave of Love

 

Rejoicing song and healing tears together side by side

the prison door once locked so tight unhinged to open wide.

Baptized with a new found love floods in on ocean's tide

and washed away my deepest fears to smooth the journey's ride.

 

The force of Love I kept without to lock out all the pain

the healing balm of life it soothes, and laughter comes to reign.

With God now at my center, I sing a new love song

no more the need to dwell in pain or focus on what's wrong.

 

Holding in my heart and hands as I feel God holds me

I capture tears from someone's heart and cast them out to sea.

Saltwater heals and washes clean – refreshed and born anew

transformation through God's love no matter the storm we've been through.

 

God's loving arms embrace us both – a smile appears on our face

Laughing together to feel the joy of God's never ending grace

 

Indescribable Joy

 

Immersion in water melts stress away

the radiant sun – on this God given day.

Simple pleasures bring peace, I quiet my mind

it's easy in summer to seek and to find.

 

It's simple to find God-there's no hide and seek

She's present in summer or in winter's bleak.

 

In the valley of darkness

On mountain's high peak

Go within and be still

To hear God's Voice speak.

 

Hide and Seek

 

The sun is playing hide and seek – close eyes and count to ten

I wonder when the clouds will move reveal the sun again?

When I run and hide myself, the sun will find my place

With light to penetrate the hands that try to hide my face.

The sun will always win this game, thank God that this is so

No escaping from God's love, I feel my inner glow.

 

 

Riding the Rapids

 

The ebb and the flow of life journey's stream

feel all the love from God's flashlight beam

in darkness of night the compass to guide

I feel Her strong presence right there by my side

The bumps and the turns when the rapids appear

God gives me the oars, I can easily steer.

 

No way I can capsize, my boat's sturdy strong

there's joy in this journey with God I belong

let nature, let God guide my path every day

life's journey a joy when I live life this way.

 

Knowledge

 

Within a tiny bird so sweet all knowledge is possessed

no alarm clock to awake or blueprint to build a nest.

When to flee the winter's cold or feed its hungry young

instincts guide it through the day – no wagging of the tongue.

 

This knowledge planted like a seed we humans have inside

tune out the rat race and the noise and open hearts so wide.

Then we'll sail free just like the gulls and we'll grow angels' wings

to hear the Voice of God within the deepest joy it brings.

 

 

Preparing a Feast

 

Six hands all work together

chopping, blending, rolling dough

The joy that's in this moment

no greater love to know.

We're playing a concerto

sounds of laughter fill the air

And though the kitchen space is tight

there's room enough to spare.

 

Could I have ever dreamed of this

when the moment of life begins?
Prepare a feast together

a mother and the twins.

All the fussing and the fighting

the yelling and the tears

The worry would our love prevail

to weather stormy years.

 

The ease of making music

as we work in harmony

as a mother there's no greater joy

than with God's children be.

 

The course these children's lives will take

wherever it may lead

They have all of the ingredients

with love they'll both succeed!

 

 

 

Christening a New Voyage

 

Their boats stand at the ready, sails full from stern to bow

Time to cast them off to sail on their own journey now.

 

Mistakes were made along the way when on my ship we sailed

It's time to focus on what's right in truth we never failed.

And they possess a wisdom far greater than my own

I stand in awe before them to see how they have grown.

 

They taught me well and I taught them the sails of love held fast

To weather any of life's storms the strength we gained shall last.

 

Surround them with my prayers – calm seas will fill their days

They have their inner compass to guide them through the haze.

 

The pride I feel is endless and sure the tears may flow

They're christened with a mother's love as off in life they go.
